For Colored Girls....

I was up all night watching this movie and i cried so much! there was so much. There were different women in this movie and each one of them had their own story, one even more compelling than the next. i keep thinking to myself which on of them do i sympathise with the most? is it the one that had both her kids dropped off from the 5th floor window by her drunken war victim boyfriend? Or the one who got raped by someone she was just beginning to love? Or the one that found out she was married to "a man that loves to have sex with other men" (mind you not gay)?
Each time there are movies I watch that i feel change my life and this was definitely one of them. And as we already know Tyler Perry is a bit intense and there's always a message at the end of his movies.
So back to the question of who do i most sympathise with the most? I'm thinking just now to myself maybe i should tell you about all the characters first;

(1) the first is a woman who had two children killed by their own father so i will call her #1

(2) the second is a social worker who dealt with families that didn't want kids but she couldn't get pregnant because of something she did in college, this woman actually visited the woman with children. That is #1

(3) the third is a successful business woman who had a husband that liked to have sex with men. she was very hardcore and didn't take nonsense form anyone. And also #1 was her assistant.

(4) the forth was a dancer who loved everything about music. she met with a man on the train that she started to fall in love with and he raped her in her own home. she said
something like we wait for the stranger to come to your house to rape you. but he never came it was the man that you know that comes to do that.

(5) the fifth one the manager of the building where some of the characters stayed and she had been through alot and seen it all. she babysits for #1

(6) the sixth is a nurse who was in love with a man who was never there for her. he would go and come back whenever it suits him. she had a class that taught women about practicing safe sec and she needed donation from #3.

(7) the seventh is a young girl who had finished her high school and got a scholarship into a college. She attends #4's dance school. she got pregnant and was sent by her sister to get an abortion from a drunken/high lady down at harlem. she almost died.

(8) the eighth is a woman who hated her mother so much, she did everything to try and disappoint her. she was a bar attender who loved to have sex. she was #7's sister. lived in #5's building! As a child she was molested by her grandfather

(9) the ninth is a mother of #7 and #8 and she was also molested by her father. he told her she had to marry a white man so she could give him pretty grand children, cause she was to ugly to have pretty ones with a black man.

So after writing this i feel i can't choose who to sympathise with the most. Each and everyone of them had their own story and i think its really powerful on its own.

At the end of the movie there was a phrase they said that i really related to,

"My love is too (replace with any word that you feel is appropriate) to have thrown back in my face!"

here's what each of them said:

1--- (Kimberly Elise)
2--- Magic (Keri Washington)
3--- Complicated (Janet Jackson)
4--- Music (Anika Noni Rose)
5--- Sanctified (Phylicia Rashad)
6--- Beautiful (Loretta Devine)
7--- (Tessa Thompson)
8--- Saturday Night (Thandie Newton)
9--- (Whoopi Goldberg)

I think that "My love is too pure to be thrown back in my face"

Tell me your "My love is.." and who you sympathise with the most!

love you guys,

pinkfleur xx
